There are a lot of people who do not understand the difference between a sauna room and a steam room, and there are those who simply cannot make up their mind and decide which one they prefer. The difference between a sauna room and a steam room should not be ignored as although both products have roughly the same goal – to heat up the body – they achieve this goal in different manners. Therefore, it can be said that the choice between the two should be made with regards not only to personal references, but also to some other requirements, such as health issues.

Sauna Room versus Steam Room

The main difference between sauna rooms and steam rooms is the way they achieve the goal of heating up the body. A sauna room uses high temperatures and low humidity whilst a steam room is the complete opposite and uses lower temperatures and high humidity levels. Therefore, the main difference is the heating method used in each of the types. Naturally, there are some differences in the results these two are said to produce as well. Namely, sauna rooms are great for people who cannot stand the high humidity levels in a steam room, whereas steam rooms are beneficial for those who suffer from respiratory problems. It can be said that the choice between which of these two to use should be made after consulting a doctor for those with health problems, and for those completely healthy, the choice can be made solely on personal preferences.

Different Types of Sauna Rooms

There are many different types of sauna rooms and all of these types have their respective advantages and disadvantages when compared to the others. For instance, there are large and small sauna rooms – a type based according to how many people can use the sauna room at a time. Also, there are home sauna rooms and commercial sauna rooms – commercial are commonly more advanced, but home saunas offer privacy and convenience – a huge advantage for those with busy lives. Sauna rooms can be heated in many different ways, so there are wood burning stove saunas, infrared saunas, electric saunas and gas saunas. Some of these are cheaper or more practical than others, but the choice is really up to the user.
